3 Years on Patreon

Hey Party People,

For almost a decade, I have been working on this project, and for the last three years, it has been possible to support both the project and myself on Patreon: https://www.Patreon.com/VictoryWorks Since most art businesses close within their first year, I’m going to call it a win. If you get any value (enjoyment, artistic, design, or otherwise) out of this public domain scifi universe, I hope you’ll consider joining. The Patreon has three levels. For $1/ month, you get to see my art (including a lot that doesn’t make it over here) as I complete it. These are not just the small versions I give away, either, you can download the files I use to make prints. For $10/ month, you get WIP images, and behind the scenes posts, and for $15, you get all that plus quickdraw videos of how the art is made. So why not take a look at https://www.Patreon.com/VictoryWorks, and consider supporting this universe today?

Stay safe, and stay awesome,

Uncle Matt

Inspiration

Hello,

I don’t usually post my personal notes here, but I just got a big dose of inspiration for this project. Recently, I saw the new Star Wars movie, episode IX. This film really drove home to me how badly a big, corporate studio can damage a beloved franchise. (Also it did include some good bits of design that are worth salvaging as ideas, so it wasn’t a total waste.) Still, the experience has further convinced me that culture is better when it isn’t claimed as the private property of a media corporation but is freely available for the use and enjoyment of the public at large. That is why everything here is, and will remain under a Creative Commons license. (with an exception or two used with permission, and noted on their pages)

A tipping point?

Over the last couple of months, this site seems to have crossed some kind of inflection point where more people are viewing it than before.  Thank you for that.

This project is being made as an open-source project in the truest sense.  If there is any part you'd like to use for your own projects, everything I have made is under a Creative Commons Zero license, so please go ahead.  (There are a few things made by other people; they are clearly marked as such, and may have different licenses.)

If you'd like to "submit a patch",  as computer programmers say, just use the comments section.  Each article on this site is a blog post, and if you have any ideas to improve the entries, or for new entries, please feel free to leave feedback.  While I do reserve the right to take down anything harassing, threatening, or otherwise inappropriate, I am always open to hearing from you.

Thanks for visiting Beyond the Spozak,
